Wordpress Dashboard
To access the WordPress dashboard, you’ll first need to log in to your WordPress site. Once you’ve logged in to your WordPress site, you’ll land here, the WordPress Dashboard.
Dashboard At A Glance
The WordPress Dashboard allows you to control all of the behind-the-scene details of managing your site. Once you find your way around the dashboard, you’ll realize it’s really easy to use and navigate.

Home Screen
When you first log in, you’ll notice a few sections on the backend. They include At A Glance, Activity, and Quick Draft, among others.
Customizing Sections
To add or remove sections on the dashboard, you click the Screen Options tab near the top-right of the web page

Once selected, you will be able to customize the sections that appear on your home page.

We recommend that you leave Welcome, At A Glance, Activity, and Google Analytics selected as they are extremely helpful in assisting with your site.
Welcome

The welcome section is a good starting point for adding new content to your site. Here you are able to redesign your site, add additional pages, modify the navigation menu and also manage comments
At A Glance

This section gives you a give overview of your site. How many posts and pages, how many comments, and it also shows you which version of Wordpress and which theme are in use
Activity

The Activity pane shows the most recent pages, posts and comments that have been posted to your site. If you click on the link of each, it will take you to that specific page.
From here, you are able to Approve / Unapprove, Reply To, and Edit comments. You also have the ability to mark comments as spam or permanently delete them from your site.
Google Analytics

To make it more convenient for you to track analytics data on your site. You're able to see the page views, how many users visit your site per specified time period and which pages are viewed the most. Play around with the filters to see which options are available to you.
Other Sections
Depending on which plugins you have installed, you will have options to more sections in your dashboard.
