Things to know
Before you jump into the tasks ahead, here are a few helpful things to know.
Mailchimp is a web-based application that works in most web browsers, which means you don't need to download or install any software on your computer. To be sure Mailchimp works properly in your browser, you should enable cookies, pop-ups, and JavaScript.
It's important to note that when you create a Mailchimp account, you agree to comply with the Terms of Use.
Create an automation
If you're familiar with automation terms and automation types, you're ready to create an automation. For most preset automations, you can choose to create a single email or an email series. Automated email series are limited to certain pricing plans. Or, you can choose a custom automation to start from scratch.
To create a new automation, follow these steps.

1. On your account dashboard, click the Automate drop-down menu and choose Email.

2. Click a category tab to find and choose the automation you want to use.

Can't find what you need? Click Custom to create something from scratch.

3. Choose Single email or Email series.

4. Enter a campaign name, and click the drop-down menu to choose an audience, the select Begin
